Vintage Kantha Tote

Made from handpicked Kantha throws as part of a unique collection of pre-loved textiles. These are some of our favourite pieces, celebrating the beauty of craftsmanship and the many layers of recycling they represent. Originally beginning life as individual cotton saris, each throw is carefully created from multiple layers of vintage fabric, hand-stitched together using traditional kantha stitching techniques. The result is a beautifully textured, versatile throw that has been thoughtfully repurposed into something both practical and full of character before made into a tote bag. The work is carried out by women, in a cottage industry setting, in various parts of India. You’ll discover genuine patches, fading, and charming imperfections throughout — details that make every piece truly one of a kind.
